The Kavara of India
The Kavara of India, numbering about 22,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste community of Ernakulam, Palakkad, and Thrissur districts in Kerala speaking a dialect of Tulu, traditionally engaged in wicker work. Mostly landless, they work as agricultural laborers and basket-makers.
They are an indigenous people in the Tamil people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Malayalam.
