The Bawa Dedh of India
The Bawa Dedh of India, numbering about 35,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a scheduled caste community of Gujarat, concentrated in the Jhalawad area of Saurashtra, whose traditional occupation is seeking alms at births, marriages, and deaths. Some Dhed Bawa serve as gurus to other scheduled castes.
They are an indigenous people in the Gujarati people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Hinduism, and they primarily speak Gujarati.
