The Makrani of India
The Makrani of India, numbering about 33,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Muslim community of Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli tracing origin to Makran in Baluchistan, brought as soldiers by the ruler of Dharampur State. Agriculture and industrial labor have replaced their soldiering role.
They are an indigenous people in the Gujarati people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Southern Balochi.
