The Aghori of India
The Aghori of India, numbering about 20,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Maithili-speaking community of West Bengal's Purulia district who claim descent from Gowala milkmen and historically subsisted by begging and selling herbal medicines. They are organized into clans governed by a jati panch council.
They are an indigenous people in the Bihari people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Maithili.
