The Majjula of India
The Majjula of India, numbering about 22,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a community of the northern coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh who once served as soldiers defending the fort of Parlakimidi for its Raja. Agriculture and farm labor remain their main occupations.
They are an indigenous people in the Telugu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Telugu.
