The Gujjar (Kashmiri) of India
The Gujjar (Kashmiri) of India, numbering about 1,220,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a community descended from Gurjar pastoralists who migrated from Gujarat through the Indus valley into the Himalayan foothills, now transhumant herders across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh distinct from the region's Kashmiri-speaking majority.
They are an indigenous people in the Gujjar people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Kashmiri.
