The Damai (Nepali) of India, numbering about 67,500 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Nepali-speaking occupational caste of tailors and musicians, historically classified as untouchable under Nepal's 1854 Muluki Ain legal code, whose Naumati Baja nine-instrument ensembles remain central to Himalayan wedding and festival ceremonies.
They are an indigenous people in the Nepali-Pahari people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Hinduism, and they primarily speak Nepali (individual language).
