The Dahait of India
The Dahait of India, numbering about 78,500 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste of Madhya Pradesh, an offshoot of the Khangar, whose name derives from their traditional role as village watchmen, a duty they once performed as personal attendants in royal households.
They are an indigenous people in the Hindi people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Bundeli.
