The Hira of India
The Hira of India, numbering about 82,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are an Assamese-speaking Scheduled Caste community of the lower Brahmaputra valley in Assam, Vaishnavite Hindu by faith. They are traditionally potters who still practice pot-making today.
They are an indigenous people in the Assamese people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Hinduism, and they primarily speak Assamese.
