The Samagara of India
The Samagara of India, numbering about 126,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste of Belagavi district, Karnataka, and Kasaragod district, Kerala, believed descended from a sage devoted to Lord Shiva. Traditionally leather-workers, footwear-making remains their main occupation, alongside labor.
They are an indigenous people in the Marathi-Konkani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Marathi.
