The Bhumia of India
The Bhumia of India, numbering about 193,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Scheduled Tribe regarded as early settlers of the Jabalpur region of Madhya Pradesh, whose name derives from bhumi, meaning land. They are largely Hindu agricultural laborers with clan-based social organization and ancestor worship.
They are an indigenous people in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Hinduism, and they primarily speak Odia.
