The Prabhu Kayastha of India
The Prabhu Kayastha of India, numbering about 284,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Marathi-speaking Hindu community of Maharashtra, whose name is traced to Chandra Sena, a Kshatriya ruler of Gudha. Historically engaged in administrative service and agriculture, they are today a largely urban community.
They are an indigenous people in the Kayastha people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Marathi.
