The Samanthan of India
The Samanthan of India, numbering about 30,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Malayalam-speaking community of Kozhikode, Kannur, and other districts in Kerala descended from the former Rajas and chieftains of Malabar. Settled cultivation and business now supplement their earlier landowning status.
They are an indigenous people in the Bihari people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Malayalam.
