The Sanyasi of India, numbering about 168,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a community of Odisha and Bihar whose name means one who has renounced worldly life, tracing origin to followers of Shankaracharya. Cultivation and priesthood remain traditional, alongside business and government service.

They are an indigenous people in the Odia people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Odia.
