The Kondara of India
The Kondara of India, numbering about 707,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste fishing community of Odisha, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh whose name derives from konda, meaning hill. They traditionally fish in ponds, lakes, and rivers, and most remain landless cultivators or wage laborers.
They are an indigenous people in the Other South Asian people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Odia.
