The Kokna of India
The Kokna of India, numbering about 1,375,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Scheduled Tribe of Nashik, Thane, and Dhule districts in Maharashtra and Valsad and Dang districts in Gujarat, once inhabitants of the Konkan coast. Settled cultivation and wage labor remain their main occupation.
They are an indigenous people in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Marathi.
