The Taga of India
The Taga of India, numbering about 892,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a community of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi also called Tyagi, believed descended from Gaur Brahmins who abandoned priestly duties for agriculture. Cultivation remains traditional, alongside business.
They are an indigenous people in the Urdu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Urdu.
