The Koli Mahadev of India
The Koli Mahadev of India, numbering about 1,825,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Scheduled Tribe of western India, concentrated in the Western Ghats of Maharashtra. Traditionally hill‑dwelling farmers and forest users, they derive their name from their devotion to Mahadev (Shiva) and from the Mahadev hill ranges.
They are an indigenous people in the Koli people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Hinduism, and they primarily speak Marathi.
