The Koshti of India

The Koshti of India, numbering about 1,230,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a weaving caste of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, their name derived from the Sanskrit kosh (a silk cocoon). Weaving remains their craft, though many have moved into trade and service.

They are an indigenous people in the Kanarese people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Marathi.
