The Khatri of India
The Khatri of India, numbering about 2,165,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a major trading caste that originated in Punjab and spread across northern and western India, claiming Kshatriya descent. Business and moneylending remain their main occupations, and many have entered industry and the professions.
They are an indigenous people in the Punjabi people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Hindi.
