They are a weaving people of San Pedro Amuzgos on the Oaxaca-Guerrero border in Mexico who call themselves Tzjon Noan, people of the thread, forced to pay tribute to the Mixtec for roughly three centuries before Spanish conquest pushed them into the mountains.
They are an indigenous people in the Mixtec people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Catholicism, and they primarily speak San Pedro Amuzgos Amuzgo.
