They are a Rundi-speaking diaspora community in Tanzania primarily composed of people of Burundian origin whose cultural heritage is linked to the Hutu communities of Burundi and the wider Central Lakes region of East Africa.
They are a diaspora people in the Bantu, Central-Lakes people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Roman Catholicism, and they primarily speak Rundi.
