The Pana of Laos
The Pana of Laos, numbering about 600 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a small Akha-related people who migrated into Laos from China roughly eight generations ago under a leader named Lateu Kouang, still divided into three clans and distinguished from Akha neighbors by rituals that omit the wider Akhazang system.
They are an indigenous people in the Hani-Akha people cluster of the Himalayan Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism, and they primarily speak Phana'.
