The Southern Tepehuan of Mexico, numbering about 62,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a mountain people of southern Durango never conquered by the Spanish, who retreated from ancestral lowland plains into the highlands, abandoning towns like Tepehuanes and Papasquiaro that no longer have Tepehuan speakers today.

They are an indigenous people in the Central American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Catholicism, and they primarily speak Spanish.
