The Mayo of Mexico

The Mayo of Mexico, numbering about 91,500 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Uto-Aztecan people who call themselves Yoreme, settled along the Mayo River of southern Sonora and northern Sinaloa, who allied with the Spanish against their Yaqui neighbors before revolting in 1740.

They are an indigenous people in the Central American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Catholicism, and they primarily speak Spanish.
