The Wounaan of Panama
The Wounaan of Panama, numbering about 8,900 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Choco-language people who migrated from Colombia's Choco region into Panama's Darien rainforest by the late 1800s, sharing the Comarca Embera-Wounaan territory since 1983 while maintaining a distinct identity from the neighboring Embera.
They are an indigenous people in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion, and they primarily speak Woun Meu.
