The Northern Embera of Panama
The Northern Embera of Panama, numbering about 27,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a semi-nomadic Choco-region people who settled Panama's Darien rainforest for centuries before Spanish-prompted 1700s migration pushed them into Kuna territory, later winning their own semi-autonomous comarca in 1983.
They are an indigenous people in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion, and they primarily speak Northern Emberá.
