The Mayangna of Nicaragua
The Mayangna of Nicaragua, numbering about 9,700 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are Misumalpan-speaking descendants of groups present in the region since roughly 2000 BC, formerly called Sumu by the rival Miskito and divided into the Panamahka, Tawahka, and Ulwa subgroups along the Mosquito Coast.
They are an indigenous people in the Central American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion, and they primarily speak Mayangna.
