The Sart-Kalmyk of Kyrgyzstan
The Sart-Kalmyk of Kyrgyzstan, numbering about 750 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Sunni Muslim people of Oirat-Mongol origin who settled in the Issyk-Kul region in the nineteenth century; most now speak Kyrgyz and identify closely with Kyrgyz society while retaining a distinct heritage.
They are an indigenous people in the Mongolian people cluster of the East Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Kirghiz.
