The Tsakhur of Azerbaijan
The Tsakhur of Azerbaijan, numbering about 20,500 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Northeast Caucasian people of Azerbaijan's Greater Caucasus region whose identity emerged from the historic Tsakhur communities of Dagestan and was shaped by migration across the Caucasus mountains into northwestern Azerbaijan.
They are an indigenous people in the Caucasus people cluster of the Eurasian Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Tsakhur.
