The Shumashti of Afghanistan
The Shumashti of Afghanistan, numbering about 2,400 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a small Indo-Aryan people of Afghanistan's Kunar Valley named for their village of Shumasht, speaking a severely endangered Dardic language related to Grangali and Gawar-Bati as most shift toward Pashto.
They are an indigenous people in the Kashmiri people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Shumashti.
