The Sanglechi of Afghanistan
The Sanglechi of Afghanistan, numbering about 2,200 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are an eastern Iranian Pamiri people of the Sanglech Valley and Zebak District in northeastern Afghanistan. They speak Sanglechi, an endangered Pamiri language, and maintain a distinct cultural identity within the Badakhshan mountain region.
They are an indigenous people in the Tajik people cluster of the Persian-Median Peoples. Their primary religion is Shia Islam, and they primarily speak Sanglechi.
