The Sekar of Indonesia
The Sekar of Indonesia, numbering about 900 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a coastal Austronesian ethnolinguistic community of the Onin Peninsula in Southwest Papua, Indonesia. They maintain a distinct identity rooted in maritime traditions, clan networks, customary lands, and the historical Kingdom of Sekar.
They are an indigenous people in the New Guinea people cluster of the Pacific Islander Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Sekar.
