The Mandobo Bawah of Indonesia
The Mandobo Bawah of Indonesia, numbering about 23,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a lower-river branch of the Mandobo people between the Kao and Digul rivers in Indonesia's Boven Digoel Regency, practicing patrilineal marriage with pig and shell-money bridewealth, in a region once used as a Dutch colonial penal settlement.
They are an indigenous people in the New Guinea people cluster of the Pacific Islander Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Mandobo Bawah.
