The Banggai of Indonesia
The Banggai of Indonesia, numbering about 144,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are an Austronesian people of the Banggai Islands and adjacent coasts of Central Sulawesi whose identity derives from the historic Banggai region and shares close cultural and linguistic ties with the Saluan and Balantak peoples.
They are an indigenous people in the Toraja of Sulawesi people cluster of the Malay Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Banggai.
