The So'a of Indonesia
The So'a of Indonesia, numbering about 14,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Central Flores people whose language is a dialect of Ngada, part of a matrilineal society descended from seven founding women near sacred Mount Inerie, subdued by a Dutch campaign in 1907-1909 that reorganized the island into five districts.
They are an indigenous people in the Flores-Sumba-Alor people cluster of the Malay Peoples. Their primary religion is Roman Catholicism, and they primarily speak So'a.
