The Tidorese of Indonesia
The Tidorese of Indonesia, numbering about 48,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a people of the historic Tidore Sultanate in North Maluku, Indonesia, whose ninth king made Islam the state religion in the late 15th century and whose kingdom rivaled neighboring Ternate for control of the clove trade.
They are an indigenous people in the Maluku-Northern people cluster of the Malay Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Tidore.
