The Tamiang of Indonesia
The Tamiang of Indonesia, numbering about 44,500 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Malay people indigenous to southeastern Aceh whose identity is centered in the Tamiang region and shaped by a distinct Tamiang Malay language, historical ties to neighboring Malay communities, and a long-established riverine homeland.
They are an indigenous people in the Aceh of Sumatra people cluster of the Malay Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Malay (individual language).
