The Gayo of Indonesia
The Gayo of Indonesia, numbering about 414,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are an Indigenous highland people of central Aceh whose identity is rooted in the Gayo Highlands, a distinct Austronesian language, and traditions linked to the historic Linge Kingdom.
They are an indigenous people in the Aceh of Sumatra people cluster of the Malay Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Gayo.
