The Batak Angkola of Indonesia

The Batak Angkola of Indonesia, numbering about 705,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Batak people of Sipirok in North Sumatra's Tapanuli region, Indonesia, many descended from fourteenth-century migrants of the Siregar clan, converted to Islam in the early 1800s under the Sumatran Padri movement unlike most Batak subgroups.

They are an indigenous people in the Batak-Nias of Sumatra people cluster of the Malay Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Batak Angkola.
