The Tasiriki of Vanuatu
The Tasiriki of Vanuatu, numbering about 1,900 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a southwestern Espiritu Santo people centered on the village of Tasiriki, meaning small water, whose language saw a rare revival from 650 speakers in 1981 to about 4,000 by 2015, aided by early missionary work local leader Lulu Varikiki helped establish.
They are an indigenous people in the Vanuatu people cluster of the Pacific Islander Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Akei.
