The Niueans of Niue
The Niueans of Niue, numbering about 1,900 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Polynesian people descended from Samoan settlers who arrived around 900 AD, later joined by Tongan migrants, ruled historically by patu-iki kings before becoming a British protectorate and later self-governing in free association with New Zealand.
They are an indigenous people in the Polynesian people cluster of the Pacific Islander Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Niuean.
