The Orang Kanaq of Malaysia

The Orang Kanaq of Malaysia, numbering about 80 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are the smallest Orang Asli people in Malaysia, a Proto-Malay group of Sumatran origin once serving as vassals to the Johor sultanate, today concentrated in a single village near Kota Tinggi with a critically endangered language.

They are an indigenous people in the West Malaysia Indigenous people cluster of the Malay Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism, and they primarily speak Malay (individual language).
