The Lowland Quichua of Peru

The Lowland Quichua of Peru, numbering about 11,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Quechua-speaking Amazonian people of the Napo, Aguarico, San Miguel, and Putumayo river basins whose ancestors, the Quijos, were nearly exterminated by the Spanish before their language shifted from the original Shillipanu to Quichua.

They are an indigenous people in the Quechua people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion, and they primarily speak Napo Lowland Quechua.
