The Jungle Quechua of Peru

The Jungle Quechua of Peru, numbering about 44,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a composite Amazonian people formed after the 1654 Spanish resettlement of several distinct pre-Columbian groups, including the Tabalosos, Lamas, and Payanancos, around the town of Lamas in Peru's San Martin region, fusing into a single Quechua identity.

They are an indigenous people in the Quechua people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion, and they primarily speak San Martín Quechua.
