The Huambiza of Peru
The Huambiza of Peru, numbering about 13,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Jivaroan people of the upper Maranon and Santiago rivers along the Peru-Ecuador border, one of the few Amazonian peoples to repel both Inca and Spanish conquest, who recently organized as an autonomous indigenous nation.
They are an indigenous people in the Amazon people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism, and they primarily speak Huambisa.
