The Huachipaire of Peru
The Huachipaire of Peru, numbering about 2,100 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Harakmbut subgroup of Peru's Madre de Dios region regarding the forest as the origin of life, decimated by a 1948 smallpox epidemic that followed a new Cusco road, whose Eshuva sung prayers are recognized by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage.
They are an indigenous people in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism, and they primarily speak Huachipaeri.
