The Achuar Jivaro of Ecuador
The Achuar Jivaro of Ecuador, numbering about 7,500 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Jivaroan people of the Pastaza and Huasaga river basins along the Ecuador-Peru border, part of a warrior tradition that halted Inca expansion into the Amazon and destroyed early Spanish settlements.
They are an indigenous people in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism, and they primarily speak Achuar-Shiwiar.
