The Eastern Bolivian Guarani of Bolivia
The Eastern Bolivian Guarani of Bolivia, numbering about 146,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are an Ava Guarani people formed through conquest and absorption of Arawakan-speaking Chane farmers after migrating from Paraguay across the Gran Chaco in the late 1400s, defeated at the 1892 Battle of Kuruyuki after centuries resisting outside rule.
They are an indigenous people in the Guarani people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Catholicism, and they primarily speak Eastern Bolivian Guaraní.
