The Xokleng of Brazil
The Xokleng of Brazil, numbering about 1,900 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Ge-speaking people of Santa Catarina who abandoned horticulture for hunting and gathering under the pressures of settler warfare, targeted by state-sanctioned bugreiro hunting brigades before contact and settlement at Ibirama in 1914.
They are an indigenous people in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism, and they primarily speak Portuguese.
